Purchasing a vacuum cleaner for some folks is a just a matter of choosing one that fits their budget. But for the more intelligent consumers among us, there will always be at least some form of research done before spending any hard earned cash.

I'll be including information here that I have gathered from a myriad of sources, including the manufacturer's website.

An Overview of the Miele S4212

One of the first things to know about the Miele brand is that the company is located in Germany, and that also means that their products come with the worldwide respect and admiration of German engineering.

Another thing to know about the Miele vacuum cleaners is that they go through an incredible rigorous testing process. For example, the retractable cables are pulled out and retracted over 10,000 times before given the okay.

This particular vacuum weighs a mere 14 pounds and has excellent maneuverability. I've seen demonstrations of its sucking power by watching videos of it picking up coins and metal bolts. I will include that in a video below.

It comes with a Vortex motor, also known and respected worldwide, and it has a 7 year warranty. The length of the cable is almost 30 feet long (29.5') giving the operator an adequate operating radius for most homes.

Of particular interest to many, is the quietness of the vacuum. As you may imagine, picking up the difference in sound by listening to one vacuum compared to another over a youtube video may be very difficult, but believe me when I tell you I can actually hear a distinct difference. Hopefully I've covered most if not all of the important things to keep in mind when selecting a vacuum cleaner for your home as it relates to the Miele S4212.

Of course, I only touched on these things:

  • the suction power
  • the motor (and its 7 year warranty)
  • the weight of the vacuum (14 lbs.)
  • its maneuverability
  • the operating radius
